Welsh Field of Remembrance: About the event

Writer's picture: USW JournoUSW Journo

The Welsh National Field of Remembrance at Cardiff Castle honours members of the armed forces. It is one of six Fields of Remembrance set up by the Royal British Legion across the UK.

The other locations are Swindon, Westminster Abbey, Belfast, Cardiff, Gateshead and the National Memorial Arboretum.

It is estimated that around 120,000 tributes are planted across these six locations every year.

Each tribute carries a personal message to someone who lost their life in the service of our country. They can take the form of a Remembrance cross, Muslim Crescent , Star of David , Sikh Khanda, Hindu Om or Secular Tribute.

The Field of Remembrance in Cardiff is open to the public until 25th November.
